Hello all!!!! Got the ole' dropout problem.....I know, I know it happens. Here's the deal, I am using Sonar 4 Producer, my PC is a Dell 5150 Pentium 4 w/ 1G ram so I have assumed I have lot's of power, this PC is dedicated to the studio nothing else. I have a few songs on this PC but not many as we just started recording a couple of months ago.
So far, i have experienced a couple of dropouts mixing this one song that uses lot's of processing (i.e. with the SonitusFX right on the console.......and I know this is kind of a bad way to do it......but it was a "just for now" thing). In the past, I have just hit play again and the dropout goes away. Now.... I haven't added anything since the last mix, (which was fine) but then last evening, I brought the song up and hit "play" and got instant dropout. I have retried and retried but it's like the song now is stuck in the "dropout" zone.
Yes, I have referred to the Sonar help index, I tried freezing tracks, this didn't work, I removed all the muted tracks, that didn't work, I even tried loading and reloading the song, no avail.
My other song sessions all come up and work fine.
I use an EM-U 1820 and the 1010 soundcard that came with it.
anyone out there have this happen before??? How frustrating, it's a good song!!!
Thanks!!!!
