TopicPosted on 03/21/2007 at 20:43:17Good sound card necessary?
I just bought a shuttle xpc, which is a compact cpu. I bought an MAudio 2496 sound card then realized I have no available PCI expansion slots. So, there is no room to upgrade my sound card. I'm left with the original Onboard 7.1 Channel Audio w/Digital (SPDIF) Ports.
The reason I bought the better sound card was to reduce the delay when doing MIDI recording. Is it possible to reduce that delay without replacing the audio card? Could that be achieved through an audio interface?
Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

no, signal latency is mainly a hardware-related issue.
