Hi all,
I have an Avance AC97 sound card on my via motherboard (shuttle SK41G system).
When using the optical/digital output I keep getting pops and clicks through the 5.1 sound system i've got connected.

An example is if i open windows media player, load a wav file and click play, i hear the pop, and plays the sound, though in taking the time to make the pop noise you tend to miss the first few seconds of the wav file.
Hope that makes sense! its as though the 5.1 and AC97 are 'negotiating' each time it wants to play a sound.

Anyone got any ideas? I've got the latest windows XP drivers direct from Avance (Who are now Realtek).

Any help please!!
