i just signed up on this forum to ask this question only, dont have time to search
i got a creative soundblaster live 5200 5.1surround sound system
Dell computer with inboard sound
i installed the card just fine i disabled the onboard sound (at least i thought i did)
been workin for a couple months, now all of a sudden it will work one second, then no audio devices will be set, and nothing will work, no sound
in audio devices everything will be greyed out i can't add nothing or select nothing
soundblaster is still installed in the device manager
it looks like this:
audio codecs (disabled)
Creative Game Port (enabled)
Creative SB Live! series (enabled)
Legacy Audio Drivers (disabled)
Legacy video Capture Devices (disabled)
Media Control Devices (disabled)
Video Codecs (disabled)
ive uninstalled the creative stuff twice now
im going to uninstall it all again, enable back everything make it like it was before i bought the stuff
i need to know exactly what to disable so nothing will interfere with this
its makin me mad
if you know whats up either post here or email jreid@onecliq.net with "soundcard help" in the subject
hmmmm never had that happen, i have a dell with a sb live! card (worst one ever dammit) it does things like that sometimes, tried updating your drivers for it from the soundblaster website? that help me...
if not call, those idiots at dell they should help, i hope, (no offense to dell, its a good computer i have, just pisses me off sometimes)
