I've decided to start learning bass but need an amp, obviously. Just wondering if there are any bass players here who can recommend a nice sounding amp for under $200? What's good for a budget player? Ashton? Marshall?

I just want something that doesn't sound cheap, but at the same time, is not expensive :lol:

I've always thought Trace Elliot punched above their weight price-wise. I played a Trace combo for years before switching over to the Orange Bass Terror.

I've always been an Ampeg guy. Been using them for about 25 years. You can get Ampeg combo amps starting at $200ish new. Used would be a little less for sure.
