It is a fairly robust and quite heavy pedal without battery: for example, I have a bass synth and EHX barely heavier, which is nevertheless twice as large.

To design very year 89-91 with green lines that go in all directions, you would almost want to support it only with Reebok Pump and personal, I think it's cool.

Ability to power sector or through a 9V battery, it has a rather interesting DRY output well.

The one I have is several years old (she was lying in the store stock for X time), small nuts tightening tend to de-squeeze (it's stupid). Basically, I ressers a quarter turn before playing, but it does not move after.

The pedal has four knobs with strange and funny names, but if you're not used to the pedals, you swim a bit before understanding what button is for what, because the knob "stupid does not help you know exactly. what it is ...
That said, you will find a description of the buttons above.

Finally, the activation is quite hard button pressure plate which is quite low. Fortunately the pedal is equipped with a red LED that lets you know when it is activated. Otherwise I'm always afraid of not having to press the button so the "margin crush" is very small (I'm not sure that we understand there is me ....)

Basically I love the look, the design, I think not terrible the activation, the LED is well thought out (this is a must for me on a pedal) button, but I understand that it does not unanimous .

UTILIZATION

As I said above with the knobs MORE, ZIP, STUPID, and JUICE, you will spend a little time to understand who does what.

Audiofanzine thank you, the settings are as follows: Distribution clean / distortion, high EQ (tone), powerful distortion and output volume.

So in the end, a simple and efficient handling, almost identical to that of ODB (except for the tone that the little yellow pedal Boss is divided into two frequency ranges).

SOUND QUALITY

Phew.

This pedal is capable of giving a slight distortion of support (call it a hi-gain like!) And on the other hand sound oversaturated (call it a jigsaw on a mixed one locomotive can). Once inside the range is very open with the dispatcher clean / drive, and you can end up with an intensity of distortion to your taste.

The tone is richer than I have seen giving a fat or high-pitched distortion, and again the range between the two is full of nuances.

But beware, this pedal still wants nasty. You always find some aggressive fish, and the distortion can quickly become "scabby".

OVERALL OPINION

I own a RAT, and I had an ODB.

This one was my favors for its rich palette. His next Orangina Red ("but why does it also mean?") Won me over, especially in my various courses I also found a sound that would not be excited.

It still retains a lot of good bass! the tone is that manages the high frequency, low they are "still", just as it should be fortified.

I advise and reconseille people I play with are impressed by its amazing and made fishing it gives. Other bassists have also found this pedal full of resource, but its part Crazy Horse is a moderate.

In conclusion, I would buy 10 times or 100 times if you must. Yes I recommend this pedal, but take the time to tame and explore its potential.

I find it very similar to ODB who, I think, the same baggage of possible sounds (after I'm not sound engineer this comparison is only my feeling), but its price completely broke, and the fact that few the people know makes it more interesting to me.
