I install the fan 9 months ago on an AMD XP 1800 +.
It features a variable speed extremely practical, even if its format a bit forced me to leave spcial Dangle derrire PC.
When minimum speed, the fan makes little noise trs. The noise made by the hard drive comes out a lot. Nothing to do with a conventional fan. Can be taken of the computer's turned on with such a fan.
By rotating the fan minimum speed, I got 39C on my XP 1800 +
Some time later, I changed the processor, AMD XP 3200 + Barton. 58C minimum speed, with peaks of 61C during intensive calculations.
No problem crash in any case, I am satisfied.
I put 8 because it could be enough for most modern processors, and also because these mid-58C when I think even a bit levs.
I recommend this fan for any musician without a box of race, but to have a computer souccieux quiet enough to catch its correct directly into their squenceur prfr.
