Midas announced the launch of the XL8i, an addition to its digital audio line-up that includes the PRO Series (PRO3, PRO6 and PRO9) as well as the XL8.
The XL8i is applicable to touring applications which do not require the XL8 96-channel 5-way active mic splitter system supplied as standard on the XL8.
The XL8i includes the same features as the XL8 and PRO6 digital systems. This includes the VCA and POPulation groups, which are designed to allow users to navigate channels intuitively, without the hindrance of layers or pages of faders.
It will feature the Midas sound characteristics, which are said to have their roots in the classic Midas analogue boards.
The XL8i will be driven by the same modular processing engine as the XL8, and also feature dual redundant network architecture, dual control processors and expansion options.
