It is a percussion synthesizer rack 2u.
It includes 50 kits with 24 sounds and 12 last (b3 to c2) can be played polyphonically. Indeed, the rackattack can also make beautiful tablecloths, bass or leads.
the back six outings jack 6.35, the trio south, and a stereo input.
front, 6 knobs, buttons and an LCD screen menus not bad.
Matrix edition "classic" waldorf rack.
level features nothing wrong to me.
you can edit the sounds in the vst plugin "attack" and send them via sysex to rackattack.
3 multi-effects, one on each output ..
waldorf has this time around a power button on the front, but deception, it is not real but only a standby button and panic noon ... grrrr
UTILIZATION
The editing capabilities being really large, we have to look a moment in the bowels of the beast and there is still much to see ... it was a bit daunting at first, and then I have taken the bull by the horns and it's going much better, the game is worth it ...
this is not always easy to get the sound you're looking as the parameters are numerous, but eventually fell to his feet after a little trial and error.
the manual, in English only (or German), is complete but it lacks some usability.
SOUNDS
The highlight, as often in waldorf, it sounds hard.
the kicks, the bleeps, the ring snaps enormous.
cymbals and snares a little less.
the panel is large, emulation 909.808, cr-78, simmons ... or something fancier, there's that hack and it is his own sound.
even if the sounds of percussion is the purpose of the synths, fx, leads and ground sonnnent really well and I use it as much as the sounds of percussion.
the effects are good (phaser, flanger, reverb, overdrive, lo-fi, two kinds of delay), the filters also (lp, bp, hp, lo-fi ...)
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a year.
it's really a good drum machine with real sounds enormous, FOR really electronic music (tech, hardtek, jungle, d'n'b, electro)
its complexity is both a default and a quality, there are ways to go really far in the search audio (analog modeling, FM ...) but you have to pass the time and lose his hair last passage. dynamics overwrite any sampler, groovebox and virtual bar (including attack vst that sounds "small" a rating of rackattack)
short, a very good machine but for connoisseurs only.
