«  Timbral richness exceptional »

The feel is excellent reputation DX7 keyboard no longer do anything wrong.
The extras from the first version are the bitimbralité, keyboard splitable, unison mode, better MIDI implementation, the unison mode, a larger screen, stereo, 64 user memories, floppy disks and a "best "His (16 bit instead of 12)

For the rest, it's solid!

UTILIZATION

Complex (the FM what!), But easier than the first version DX7 ...

SOUNDS

That's why I put this review.
With 6 sine waves that modulate them, the timbral variety and sound quality are amazing.

Some of its sounds are impossible to reproduce with most current synth-based subtractive (either sample-based or Virtual Analog)
on the other hand forget the imitation of sounds, acoustic sounds are the most relevant are those which do not mimic, ie all the synthetic sounds

Found on the net many banks of sounds of interest varies, but I still download a few banks paying and there we can see the immense possibilities of the machine, some have its "hot" for the FM I found.

The DX has no effect so be sure to add some output (the reverb and chorus for example)

I also recommend purchasing the book "master the FM" to go further and customize its sounds up while understanding what is done (patience is always rewarded) Very

OVERALL OPINION

complementary to my other synths.

OK, it may not always hot (but on this point it depends a lot of programming) and above all it sounds very 80's but this is one reason why I bought it (hate it or love it .. .)

I'm not about to part with it!
