This guitar is made in China .... If made in the USA (it is made for Saga, U.S. firm specializing in jazz and bluegrass guitar), it would be five times as much (10 times?) And have a reputation comparable to the best brands. It is obvious that the made in China slows to buy, but you have to go on it (the wallet and takes care anyway is unreadable on the instrument, notice to the snobs). It inspired a Dreadnaught (without slavish imitation) of certain pre-war Martin. The finish is exemplary, the solid top is spruce (it smells good!), The dam in X, the varnish is very nice, the decor, which may seem kitsch on the photos, do actually is not at all when it was the guitar in his hands and raises instead of admiring glances. Personally, I have enough guitars and austere matte varnish. Note that it is usually delivered with a hard case Golden Gate also made in China and also of high quality.
UTILIZATION
I could not try this guitar store, which is obviously taking a big risk even if the manufacturing standards seem harsh and if there are samples on the Internet. Good surprise: the first grip is already good. You feel immediately at ease, with a volume sufficient impresssionnant. I also have a Martin DM and a Takamine AN10C. The Takamine has a very different, softer and velvety, it's another guitar, complementary, but the DM just to go the distance sound, which is pretty amazing. the only flaw on the handle narrow losrque we have not used. The placement of the left thumb is then a bit erratic (beware of cramps).
SOUNDS
This guitar is for playing country, I think, or else the style of acoustic music Neil Young, with pick. It sounds like a good Taylor. The bass and midrange are those of Martin (within mats), but the highs are crystal clear, without being flashy. A treat ...
OVERALL OPINION
We must wait and see how the guitar will age. In general, solid bonifient the instruments. This reaction is that of a first grip and does not bode suite in more intensive use. Before buying, I consulted the Internet a number of tests high praise, but it must in any case be wary of newspaper articles, sometimes complacent. The forums however show that users are impressed. Note that it is found on sale in France, including on the Internet from 600 to 800 euros, case included. The price / quality ratio is absolutely remarkable friends there up to 200 euros difference. The only downside for now is that it is not an investment comparable to that of a great brand like Martin or Taylor. Maybe he Blueridge disappear in ten years ... not Martin!
