It sounds great.. if you have the right amp. I purchased a small beginners amp when I bought it, so I thought the sound was somewhat limited. Once I got a higher end amp, it blew me away. It's VERY solid & durable. It's fallen over so many times, bumped into so much stuff, and been abused more than a guitar should be, but it's still as good as the day I bought it.
It's a little heavy. Every once in a while my straps like to come right off it.. Sometimes when I put new strings on they buzz sort of. It doesn't take too long to get rid of that..
Like I said, it has taken much abuse, so you can take my word for it. It's got solid construction.
A great bass for just about anyone. Be it your first or you 5th (or whatever).
