Made in USA in 2001. I added a Hipshot BT-2 for drop-D (any necessary changes in the lower, or holes to be redone: coat-tails, and it works great! I also changed the buttons Bakelite Black which are very ugly for Precision chrome type. It is only the look, even if it counts as they are especially easy to catch. The rest has been said. It's classic Fender JB.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice. Well painted, it glides on its own. Apart from access to acute crappy Fender (22 boxes and huge heel) is a real treat. As I play a little "hard" on the ropes and despite pulling 50-105, I have a lot lower the height of the microphones. So, for the comfort of thumb is a bit cramped. Then I glued a piece of black plastic on the microphone so that there is broader support. For sound, I have a 10-band equalizer programmable effects loop of the amp. I put the two mics background and I work the sound from the EQ. For some nuances in-game, I use the tone control. Well, anyway, it's passive, so there is not much of a miracle to expect low settings!

SOUNDS

His question is really a pleasure. This bass sounds definitely liabilities, but the sound is so clear and precise, that actually what we want with the effects or the mix. Anyway, there are only Fender who knows to do a good smoke. So, right behind you need a good amp, but this is the case for all low, even active. Do not run a Ferrari on a dirt track! I really love this sound correct when roots rather too much between the amp (or mix) and effects. I play rock, punk sometimes and a little bit of reggae ... it sounds!

OVERALL OPINION

With experience, I would do this choice, but then, much sooner! And yet I really do not like the mouth and the conformism of the JB ... but the sound (damn, what a sound!) and comfort are at the appointment, so too bad for the look!
