I bought this product from eBay for $220. It's also available through Musicans Friend for around the same price. I chose eBay because there was no tax.

This bass took me by suprise. I was expecting a POS bass that I would have to upgrade everything on. However, after playing for 30 minutes I realised what a deal I'd stumbled upon. The neck plays awesome and there are no dead spots or buzzes. The frets are smoothed so sliding is no problem. The finish is mint and shiny, the action(string height) was perfect from the factory, and all other parts are strong and easy to use.

After having this bass for about a week I notice three problems. First, the strap pins are coming loose, and the pickup is far from "good". The E string is awful unless you're finger picking. It's muddy and much louder than the other strings. Also, when you slide up the E string it sounds like the world is ending. Finally, the pickguard is very thin and weak.

This bass is A+ quality and construction for the price.

Bottom line- better than any other new bass in this price range I've seen. I'm preparing to buy a Seymour Duncan SMB-4D to slap in this thing and a new pickguard so it'll be ready to go.
