« Zoom 505 II »
Published on 09/25/03 at 15:00I got the Zoom 505 II pedal of eBay for about 70 bucks. I think it's around 100 in stores so I was happy. I got it because I just started a band and needed something other than the amp for effects.
I like the ease of use! Real easy to change stuff on the fly. (I had to change volume before while playing and that was no biggie) You don't even really need the book but it's a nice reference if you don't get something.
I don't like the fact that from one effect you can only go to two others. You have to think ahead about how your song is going to go and make sure that the effects are right next to the one you start.
This would be the part I really don't like. The plastic construction is alright. The actually pedals are fine and stable. The only thing is that one day it stopped working all together. I took it apart and found that the power input broke off from the rest of the stuff. I got it sodered and it works but I don't know for how much longer.
Great little pedal for the guy that does a little bit of travel but it can't gig regularly. Good for the beginner of just poor guitar player. (like me!)
