« Ibanez RG7620 7-String »

Published on 08/05/01 at 15:00
I've been looking to purchase a 7-string for quite some time. Ibanez has been making them longer than anyone. I have owned several Ibanez models in the past and always very pleased with them. I was actually looking for a Universe but just couldn't justify paying that kind of money just for the "extras" it has. After several weeks of searching I finally found what I needed on Ebay. I purchased from LM Music in Chatanooga, TN for around $550. What a deal!

I actually like my purchase more than I expected. Needed a guitar that could do it all...not a whole arsenal of guitars cluttering up my small home...Needed a 7-string...couldn't pay much money...The transition from 6 to 7-string was very easy. The 7-string neck actually feels more comfortable to play. I tried several different brands of 7-strings but felt most comfortable with the Ibanez line. The Dimarzio pickups sound incredible. The wiring and choices of different sounds allows me to get just about any sound imaginable...EXACTLY what I was looking for. Wasn't really positive about the VK finish, but when I opened that case up for the first time I threw all doubts aside. Pictures don't do it justice.

None better! I've owned them all at one time or another...Les Pauls, Strats, Teles, Jacksons, Hamers, BC Richs...None comes close to the Ibanez.

Exactly what I was looking for. Transition from 6 to 7 string was painless. Sold all my 6 strings. This is the only guitar I own now. It does averything I need it to.
