A new brass collection at Native Instruments

Native Instruments collaborated with Soundiron to design un dual brass sample library that can be purchased separately or bundled.

The new Native Instruments Symphony Series debuts with Brass, which samples the full brass section of the orchestra and is divided into two library, one for ensembles and the other for solo instruments.

All the instruments in Brass Collection were recorded at the Saint Paul’s Church in San Francisco with two linked 8 channel Sound Devices 788 SSD devices and large diaphragm Neumannn microphones (8 TLM 103, 2 TLM 107, 2 TLM 67 and two TLM 102) in close, mid and far positions. The GUI for Kontakt 5 and Kontakt 5 Player allows for mixing these different mic positions, control their level, pan, output routing and apply EQ, convolution reverb, filter and compression effects. Note that all mixer settings can be saved and recalled with other .nki instruments.

The instruments were recorded with up to 8 round robins and 150 chromatic and effect articulations are available. Furthermore you can adjust the dynamics, attack, release, tightness and motion of the instruments and use the automatic repeat function to create staccatos.

The Brass Collection is organized in two libraries:

Brass Ensemble compiles the four trumpet, trombone, horns and basses (tubas and euphoniums) sections, each with 8 musicians. You’ll find 25 .nki instrument presets, 150 articulations and 4 mic mixes for a total of 29 GB of compressed content.

Brass Solo is dedicated to solo trumpet and trombone, first and second cor and solo tuba. 94 chromatic articulations and 26 special effect/articulations are included, they can be assigned to keyswitches and switched via MIDI note, velocity range or CC message. You can even assign each section to a specific note range and create custom splits. The 18 GB library includes 30 .nki instrument presets and 4 mic mixes.

The Brass Collection is available for 499 €, the Brass Ensemble library can be purchased separately for 399 € and Brass Solo for 299 €.
