I have read some threads on this forum describing the same problems I have, but they are very old and I don't find any specific advice.

I used my soundcard to import vynil recordings into my computer. One day the recordings are fine but when I play them back they sound awfull. Another day it is impossible to make a proper recording.

The sound is crackling, distorted etc.

I've read about changing buffersettings, but nothing specific on how to do that and at what level they should be set.
