Firewire external sound card.
I learned to play Live. The sound cards on laptops are gnralement mdiocre a quality (and that's saying something).
Example: my laptop latest sony (P4, Centrino, 1.5 GHz) possde yamaha card with which I can not play cubase least 300ms of latency. Unable to live under such conditions of, since I play midi keyboard on compounds Cubase with Reason as an instrument.
I wanted a config:
- Nomadic
- That will not be planted on scne
- Performance, which could provide such a latency <10ms, to allow a game on live instruments Reason.
- With a good dynamic sound (default other big micro card supplied with the laptops)
This card silent for me. J'hsitais however with the M-AUDIO 410, just under CHRE. The Edirol However, the big asset of 10 inputs (the M-AUDIO has only two) that allow = increasing returns effects and mixing live using the computer as an interface.
This is the config which I used:
SONY PCG-Z1RMP-M 1.5 GHz Intel Pentium4 512M of RAM.
Cubase Vsti 5.1-r1
Reason-2
UTILIZATION
Installing Windows XP SP1 without a shadow of a problem.
Manuel damn good. French installation manual and user manual in English only. But that does not dbrouille in English today? mmm?
GETTING STARTED
Not much use for now, but I can dj say this:
- The construction seems super solid. the pots are firm, no play, all the impression of being built to last a lifetime. Big diffrence with the M-AUDIO, less CHRE but less robust in appearance.
- Everything worked the first time, and I have not had a single hook with this sound card.
- I work 7ms latency for now, but I feel that I could push a bit more given the stability inbranlable which I have the exprience to date. My pieces include up to 10 audio tracks and up to a dozen instruments playing parallle Reason.
OVERALL OPINION
I do not use it for a long time, but for now she met my expectations with gnrosit. It MRIT October 1 overall.
Congratulations to the passage continues pater Edirol by the level of quality of its products, including (and especially) for all that is invisible or inaudible, but it speaks volumes about the need for designers (buttons, finish , touch CONTRL).
