EQ: 3 position with a cutting the EQ, the other two being "cut" of certain frequencies.
Also: a true bypass, which is very very very well! It can integrate a series of pedals without fear of rot sound, which is very important in my opinion.
Rating: Excellent because it is one of those pedals extremely simple and can be valuable in the studio, to find the little piece of fat is missing or some attack, a raucous ...
UTILIZATION
I use it in boost, before entry into the amp (60W Fryette Deliverance).
Concerning the equalization is not very useful, because the sound is much better when they put it on off. After, to fetch some frequencies, in my opinion it is better to do on the amp.
At first I'm going to use it for solos.
SOUND QUALITY
Like everything, good sound is a succession of good elements. So it would be foolish to expect it to do all the work. But by putting the input of a very good amp, it really does sth very very good, it's MORE. So she finds it place between some very good elements.
on the other hand, for me it does not sound metal but more kind of a big rock that task, excellent for playing Black Label Sausage (désolé. ..). There are ways to feel like good old Zakk, it's bold but it's good!
I have a lot compared to the Xotic BB Preamp from home I also (excellent stuff, really!), Who does not play at all in the same category as the BB is a pedal to 210 € whose ambitions are far greater. But anyway, the Metal Muff is very far from being ridiculous! Instead, it brings something differently. The BB is much cleaner (Tubescreamer always used), it does not transform the sound, it provides just enough where you have (I'm a fan of this pedal). The Metal Muff, she colors the sound, but a very interesting way.
OVERALL OPINION
The name is laugh, but its use is generally great fun! Of very good stuff, which I was certainly not cost much since I offered it, but I would have bought if I had been screened. The price is anyway really surprising given the quality of the machine.
