Installation on Mac, without problem ...
PC is a bit like playing Russian roulette, you have intrt exactementla config prconise (expensive!)
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
Yes, it will run, but it's delicious. Excellent audio quality, true, but considering the price of the hardware, fortunately!
It did everything we asked, but rather less than the competition
OVERALL OPINION
It's been ten years that I use the main pro squenceurs march (Digital Performer, Nuendo, Logic and proutools), I classify it dead last because:
- For prixd'un Systm pro tools full j'achte Nuendo 3, Apogee converters and Studer (better than the HD3) of John Hardy or Millennia pramps (apprcieront connoisseurs), the RME or Motu in sync and MIDI: ca runs better, sounds better and I still have something to change your car and call my girlfriend ... in Mauritius!
- Pro tools that only runs on Mac and résumé to the LORD dbat Maciste between sectarian and litistes PCistes mowing and naive, the only problem the PC is Windows! So if you have a bank account with at least 5 zros and that you are a bit lazy, buy a mac: one branch is running. But If you are not the annuitant and you're not afraid to put the head under the hood, buy a big dual-core PC, do not plug it on the internet, disable all windows services you can, remove the funds notches, screensavers and all but pretty hungry gadgets XPpro, have a look on the forums a little pro and you have a machine running as well as all major Mac market and you can invite your girlfriend and her mom in a good restaurant with ... couraging SAVINGS!
- Bob Clearmountain (I think) said, "what is important to complete the planning of a studio, not the quality of hardware, but its look, if your mixer is large enough to land a jet, you refuse CANCEIS "Today, producers, musicians and DA (which there often know very little) frtillent happily if you talk Neumann, SSL, and Pro- Tools (I just finished a project with a musician who prfr work on his Pro-Tools LE and Digi 02 plutt to try the Systm Nuendo3/RME I proposed, shame the sound and speed of work, but happens all the time!). If you and your honntes not deaf, speak their C12, RCA, Cole, Neve VR, and Nuendo, but do not push too much, you could become chmeur ...
- I often need to work with MIDI, intger of virtual instruments, to edit the waves of flies, the grate of Monitoring complex to compile virtual tracks (re-re) , to edit the tracks and everything rlles or pro-tools does not know how to do it, or it trs long and not practical. It is more convenient if you're just in the post-production video (still!)
- The current crisis in the studio ncessite we have good tools at a reasonable price in order to stay COMPTITE then arrtons to submit the dictatorship Pro-tools/SSL and try to convince our customers that can do better for less. Refuse to mastering-8dB RMS, as some will hear again the Difference between MP3, CD and analog, and resume the hard sell, do our mtier with inventiveness and comptence honntet like old times, and at least the music will thank us ...
