Version 7.0 comes 4 years after the release of version 6.0 and 17 years after the very first version of n-Track came out.
The new version includes the nBridge module to allow using legacy 32-bit plug-ins inside the 64-bit version of the application and to sandbox plug-ins in a separate process. Sandboxing is designed to protect the program from crashing and losing the user’s work in the event that the 3rd party plug-in fails because of a bug (i.e. a software defect), much like recent web browsers open web pages into separate processes so that if a web page crashes the other pages remain active.
Version 7 features a redesigned user interface. It also includes n-Track Drums 2.0, the percussion + step sequencer component, with a new sound library.
Pricing & Availability
n-Track Studio is offered in two variants, the Standard edition costs $49, the EX edition costs $89 and contains more advanced features such as surround mixing, sync with external devices and editing of individual samples.
Existing users can upgrade to the latest version for $34.
A working evaluation version is available for download at ntrack.com.
