live sound question: acoustic amp as a monitor

a friend of mine is playing an acoustic gig tonight and he's discovered that his monitor has a blown horn. in lieu of a monitor, would it be possible for him to use his amplifier as a monitor (Peavey Ecoustic 112). I know this isn't optimal, but is it possible without causing damage to any of the equipment involved?

if the monitor was active, then yes, no problem.
