Hi,
I'm new to recording, but have set up an Alesis Firewire 8 and connected it to my laptop computer after adding a Firewire port. When I listen to the mix from the mixer, it sounds great. When I record and play it back, it sounds like a CD skipping, disjointed sound, sort of like the system was overloaded with data. Alesis isn't much help, they tell me to change the buffer, etc. I've tried tweaking just about every parameter on Cubase LE and it doesn't seem to change anything. Any help someone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rich

Actually, this didn't fix everything. My recorded tracks play back perfectly when I turn OFF the Alesis Multimix 8 and cubase uses the Realtek drivers, so I think this is a problem with playback through the Multimix. Any suggestions? Besides from you, Rich?

Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich,
Just disable your wireless internet connection and everything will be fine.
