Since I'm using an Audiophile 2496 (which has no inbuilt MIDI sounds) I much prefer to use Soundfonts for basic MIDI composing in Sonar. However, my default source is the Windows jobbie, which sounds awful and is severely laggy! How can I choose my Soundfont DXi as a default MIDI source i.e. without creating a specific Template or Project?? This is probably very easy but I can't find it in the manual. Cheers.

Make sure no midi outputs are selected in Options > Midi. Insert a DXi into the instrument rack. All midi channels will then be mapped to the DXi.
