I know this has been asked but I can't find the answers - I can't listen to the guitar input as I'm recording. Actually I can get sound but it is a second or two late, which suggests to me I'm hearing the output. Is there any way to hear the guitar and/or voice input while recording?

Hay.
I had the same problem.
Sometimes latency can be a software problem as well and before you spend the cash on a new sound card or “audio interface” you need to determine where the problem is.
It can be as simple as turning off the echo in the software...

Maybe if you tell us about your setup "hardware/software" someone can better help you.

one more idea. new audio drivers may help.

Peace! :)

latency is a hardware related issue. you can't get better monitoring unless of course you change your soundcard.
