Well im intrested in making hip hop/soul beats. What types of software would you recommend? I also rap so what types of microphones should I use?

i recamend for beats: reason, fruityloops, acid-pro. and for mics i highly recamend any vocal condensor mic, this means you need phantom power for it which many one channel pre-amps have. cheap condensor : $75 cheap preamp w/phantom power: $100
