Thread Severe midi delay

1 Severe midi delay
I'm experiencing some severe midi delay, using a Midistart 2 keyboard from Miditech and Magix Music Maker 12 XXL.
When I try to use the virtual instruments in the midi part of the program, the delay is so severe that it is all but impossible to play in any sort of rythm. It seems that it is only the playback I get while playing, and not the actual signal, that gets delayed.
My pc has 1.6 GHz (Sempron 3200+), 896 Ram and some kind of Realtek HD soundcard, I think.
Any advice would be appriciated.

sounds like a latency problem. In the settings there should be an option to decrease/increase buffer size. You should set that buffer to as low as you can get it without the sound getting choppy.

If it's still too slow, you might want to look into ASIO4ALL. That will get your latency down to under 10 ms, which is just about instant.
