I already have a mic...
I know it could be better but someone just gave me this, free is better than nothing...

You need something to actually do the recording. Does the Tascam record?

Both the cd and tape deck work sooo...I'd assume so. I don't have the right headphones to even check. Is there any other hardware I need?

Well it depends if you want to just record solo vocals or record them on top of other stuff. Plus recording onto a cassette may not be the best option. You won't be able to play it in many places (who still has tape decks?). So it's important to know if you can record CDs with that tascam.
