I am going to build a PC - Please help me spend my money wisely!

Ok, so I have around £500 to spend on a new PC - My requirements are:
I will most likely be using Reason or Fruity Loops
I will be using the PC pretty much solely for producing electronic music
I wish to produce music on the PC with the only inputs being a MIDI keyboard (of which I am yet to purchase) + the mixer connected to my decks
Therefore I do not want to waste money on anything I don't really need, such as graphics cards, gaming software/hardware, etc.
I am most likely going to go for an AMD Athlon processor as I have had better experiences with these with Windows XP (don't like Vista). I have a monitor already, and have a set of speakers.
Other than that, please could someone tell me how to spend my money most wisely for my requirements.
