Guitar Amp Simulation Pedal from Fender belonging to the Mustang Amp series

The Mustang Floor allows for four digital effects and an amp simulator.
- Effect a "stomp" that will compressor, overdrive, wah, fuzz ...
- An effect called "modulation", with the chorus, tremolo, vibe, yet wha ...
- A delay,
- A reverb.

You can not have one type of effect at a time. Therefore impossible to have overdrive + compressor. Fortunately, wha is in two categories! There are many settings for each effect. The order of effects before and in the loop of the amp simulation is fully configurable.

Pedal Mode switch easily "volume" to "expression" or it requires a parameter (any) effects or amp. This is configurable for each preset, as well as the state of the pedal when you reach the preset.

The configuration can be done on Fender Fuse (os x and windows), common to amps Mustang Software, which allows even more things than directly on the pedals. Presets can be downloaded from the internet.

The connector has a wide input jack guitar course for entry to work on a piece to the headphone, Jack L and R, L and R XLR for a sound system for example, in and out noon, USB and Fuse to send the sound on a computer, making for an additional expression pedal ...

UTILIZATION

The manual is a bit short, but can take his first steps.

There is first a little impressed by the possibilities, but it finds its feet very quickly. I could modify small adjustments in the middle of rehearsal without panic or take 10 minutes, while I had the pedal for a week.

Installation of Fuse seems essential because it provides incredible ease of configuration. Just click on the computer quietly to move and change the pedals, assign the expression pedal to anything, and you can hear the result directly ...

One can switch between preset (pedal 1 -> Preset 1, 2 pedal -> preset 2 ... etc.). Pedalboard mode: you can always change the preset buttons to up / down, but the bottom switches allow enable / disable the "stomp", modulation, delay, reverb. It is this mode that I use because it does what I wanted: a giant modular and portable pedalboard.

The first switch toggles the external effects loop. This is very useful because the state of this switch is stored in the preset.

Access to the tuner is simple. It works great.

SOUND QUALITY

I bought this pedal to replace the dozen pedals that I carried in requisitioned ... In comparison, the Mustang Floor sorely lacking in personality and "gniak analog". The overdrive is not terrible, compression works, but hardly replaces a EHX pedal as a colorful example.

Deadlines are good, even if they are not extremely long. I find the reverbs excellent.

The chorus, tremolo, flange require some patience to find its sound, but do the job. The wha is quite nice. It is enough "ouUUUAAAah ouaAAaahh", more than the Cry Baby spitting and shear sound good. To test whether this effect is important to you.

The amp simulations are pretty nice. Fender slamming his clear, effective crunches, Supersonic saturation. Marshall side is not bad, although somewhat less exceptional. For hi-gains and other large saturations, it will surely be disappointing, but I do not use this kind of sound.

But finally, a Strat or a Tele plugged in there, all in a Fender tube amp, it does. It compensates for the relative coldness of the pedals by the rest, and the coup was a good sound control. The defects are quite at home with a masked group.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been a month since I use it a few hours of config to the songs I play in groups, some more experiments. In rehearsal no worries, it is robust, practical ... The only small problem is the knob for adjusting the output level, which can easily move a bit, we'll have the tape.

The factory presets come out very strong, I feel that it is rather standard set for use with headphones or computer as pedals, beware.

Never a multi-effect will be as given me feel like a pedalboard. It's very nice. I would do this choice without hesitation. Some effects may not have been more too, but better quality orientated.

The price / quality ratio, in light manufacturing, seems excellent.
It should by no cons to everyone (number of effects, amp simulations favored Fender ...). But it is a quality too.
