« HP sensational, but ... »

This is a really special record at HP. This is not an HP glossy and detailed to Fender or sharp and angry at the Vox. He made a "clean mellow". Some critics say it sounds like a HP on which coverage would have asked, and yes that sounds a bit this purpose.
For my part, I melodies plays jazz / swing, sometimes for overdrive limit the attack mediator, and I love it because it does not have this side sharp / shrill to other products.
Present for a much lower 10 inches of it right mids and highs there, but everything is as "nicely polished". Really special ...
Looking for a jazz sound "mellow" (kind of smoky bar jazz), I installed it in a combo 2/3 open-back "home-made" (12AX7 6V6 +) 4/5 Watts modified to use jazz. So for me, it works perfect! Note that I only play clean to (loud) volume of house (thank you nice neighbors). So no experience with large volume of room or distortion ...
As an anecdote, I manage to be both mellow jazzy sound of a telecaster neck pickup on, tone halved.
Like its big cousin the Cannabis Rex, Lil 'Buddy features a hemp cone. But the sound has nothing to do with him. The CR is known for exceptional cleans and bright, that does not deliver the entire Lil'Buddy.
on the other hand, this hemp cone can push very aut power while maintaining a very clean record: distorts very late. Very good record as a very low volume.
Some préconnisent to "settle" an overly bright amp. Personally I would not make this recommendation because it is in fact the entire sound spectrum that makes it mellow and it may not appeal at all.
I have long hesitated to select it (not very popular on the Internet, HP, and a lot of critics). But I do not regret at all: perfect for what I was looking for: mellow, mellow ...
