This product works well for me trs: I use it with my two basses (4 string, active) and works properly. Before, I used a little Korg GA-30, a little more silent ractif but less convenient.
I have not had the opportunity to try a 5 string, but I'm afraid that the device has trouble hanging on well so bad. Indeed, in the middle, we feel that it starts hurting (but even when walking).
It would be good as a user of 5-string bass to try and give advice. Anyway, I am personally happy trs!

EDIT: Big PDAL default of this: it eats the battery quickly trs, the transformer is absolutely essential. I took a small Ibanez is going well and trs trs is not expensive.
