Value For Money : Poor
Good evening, I give my opinion on these beautiful Celestion Ditton 66 Serie II.

- Since when? :
More than 7 years (even personal) and grew up with a pair in the family living room, purchased in 1981 by my father.
So 2 pair home!

- Plus:
The thinness of the upper spectrum, Retailer and rich, never aggressive on a violin, a bagpipe or a bomb.
The medium rather sublime voice, made a piano, oboe.
The serious percussion (good amp Behind) deep on a big band or an organ, a rare quality that, once having heard best on B & W overpriced.

- Minus:
Quality terminal blocks, filters and capacitors which composes and worthy of wiring cables HP car. A good re-wiring and re-screening at a good professional (House of paris HP) and forgotten the sound of yesteryear, the difference is amazing!

- Report Qualit price:
4500Frs pair purchased new in 1981 (Cibot paris) and deuxime pair bought used in 2002 to 250.
Strongly advised to mlomanes budget limit.
However, giving up their sources and an amp, very musical and ran for the drivers properly.
Personally QUAD QUAD 44 + 405 + CD player Rega Jupiter and Io (Diapason d'Or 1999).
HP REGA cables and cables and QED Rega modulation. A RESULT of the more correct!

-Repeat the same choice?
No, because it can not spar is attached to it, its quality of assembly (HP and cabinet) and the impression they give guests (Ouhaaaaa!), Make them unmarketable !
Although I would do sr the same choice, without a shadow of a hsitation!
Often their low yield critical t I do not agree at all the above. Of the 66 mk1 agree yield low 86dB if I remember correctly.
But the 66 mk2 with 90dB 1W/1m (Celestion documentation) and its points with a 100 watt amp nearly 110dB (A review of his 1980) has "nothing to do with their big" to quote magazine!

A real gem my eyes ...
