Made in Japan in 1984 1993, mine in 1991.
CHARACTERISTICS identical the Gibson ES 335 (22 frets, 2 PAF pickups 57 a selector 3 positions, 2 SETTING THE volume and 2 Tone)
The handle is slightly larger: 52 mm box of 12 against 50 mm for Gibson, Length: 1043mm or about 7mm shorter than the Gibson.

The gills are narrower and shorter than the Gibson.
D'APRS information found on the web for MODELS "Orville by Gibson", and the microphones are acastillage manufacturing Gibson while the US MODELS "Orville" the whole is Japanese manufacture.
Gibson would have authorized the manufacture provided that the production is Reserved for the Japanese market.

UTILIZATION

Using the same Gibson ES335.
Difference of the 2 mm wide handle does not disturb me.
The balance seems better than the gibson
This may be due to the weight: between 100 and 200g less than the Gibson.

SOUNDS

Sound trs trs trs Gibson.Guitare near the versatile: Blues of course, jazz ... Excellent sound with a Polytone and a little reverb.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this guitar for 6 years.
I am a Gibson ES335 possdais dj and I bought it on a favorite.
Report qualitprix unbeatable. We find less than $ 1,000 on the US sites.
Exprience with this choice and I would do if I were a guitar Sparer, the choice is between dchirant Gibson ES 335 and Orville by Gibson ES 335!
