The Yamaha SHS-10 is the cheapest keyboards of "shoulder" (feels like a guitar) MIDI ... the era c'tait really an incredible price, just for basic functionality is to lead a MIDI synth.

Nicknamed "Sholky" (Shoulder Keyboard in "japoglais"), the SHS-10 is primarily a toy (one of hundreds of mini-keyboards with mini squenceur / arpgiateur), released No the 1988 or 1989 (in Japan) if my memory is good. In dmo song he had also the song "Last Christmas" by WHAM in midisong arpgi ... idegniale the Yamaha silent to add to it making a "MIDI out" and a MIDI implmentation impressive (for its size and for the era).

The SHS-10 is trslger plastic (available in version mtal gray and red, and may also be black, but I'm less of. Personally I have a gray). Without batteries must weigh two pounds or less. It has a non-dynamic keyboard 32 keys of any size, he can send bank-changes, and MIDI program-change. It has a pitch bend wheel and a button to trigger the modulation. He knows also send start / stop squenceur (!), And sends the arpgiateur accompaniment (bass, arrangements) on MIDI channels and adjustable spars! He also has a key "transpose" very practical, the adjustable pitch bend is the semitone octave.

Seen as a complete TRS is not it? For 200 balls?

Add that it works on batteries (8 x 1.5 volt) or AC adapter, it possde its own mini-speaker and an audio output jack 6.35!

Oh, I forgot to tell you, it's also a FM synth (not programmable) 2 oprateurs, of the type found in Premire soundblaster. The internal sounds are pretty useless, but I tell you it's a MIDI Keyboard Controller ... That said, by passing it through guitar effects (distortion ,...) we get some tricks INTERESTED.

If you find one in a flea market and want a tiny keyboard MIDI matre (not dynamic) as a gadget to make the cake on scne, try it. To make synth bass lines with a finger while jumping on scne did all fit the bill.

UTILIZATION

The keyboard is too small for use srieuse but CONTRL startup / stop of squenceur and other modules available on the "hose" the left hand are nice.

The rubber buttons are not, however trs reliable use ... was still a gadget.

For a real keyboard flask scne it will search the Yamaha KX MODELS, although more expensive, but with the famous "control strip" that allows the bends "guitaristic" the left hand.

OVERALL OPINION

I have over 15 years, but frankly I primarily used in my youth when j'tais broke. For tips exprimentaux to play in the metro ...
