However, impossible to read simultanment several sentences or several sentences to record and read by adding one to the other

prcedemment as said, no USB port, but the format, I think the dj CHARACTERISTICS compltes trs.

possibility of adding a CONTRL pedals (see below)

    UTILIZATION

It's true no manual in French, but you can find on the net via a link in a thread on AF ddi the pedals.

I do not use it since trs long, so I do not yet control all parameter. I use the recording feature the most basic, no rglage tempo or measure. function is the simplest: it operates the pedals are played (as against, must be square if the surprises costs), and we dsenclanche the pedals, which takes the Relay for reading, and it BPS this maneuver as many times as the DSIR.

reading the instructions, the guide features rhythm, tempo selection, measurement (quantification) ... complex seemed to me (I prcise I no mastery of solfge parliaments, so nothing that scares me a little jargon) and "locked up" (I do not know if I'm understanding, but the only word that comes). however, for someone familiar with these concepts should not pose a problem in and probably can make the most of the craft.

For cons, the only fawn "disable" the box that pace dclenche ds one reads a preset knob and lower the "level" which is at least ddi. attention in concert vrifier if properly once or you will hit the jackpot (all the rhythm patterns are quite nazes registered)

forcment not practical for use on scne hands are highly stressed ..

Edict of 02/07/07: I just received a Controller fs5u boss, and I must say it is convenient and increases user comfort Whereas, the Controller allows you to cut reading a sentence with one touch (instead of two simultaneously on the pedals alone, not what it There's more convenient to use), and then select the following sentence .

    SOUND QUALITY

The sound is clean and well restored your original sound THE FIRST loop. However, with several loops, it is the cat, it appears from your amp a boiled inaudible, which makes it unusable as a group.

in addition, must be taken into account that the parts you are successively add a volume of diffrent THE FIRST! between each, it is therefore necessary to adjust the level knob, not practice again because you can not do that by hand

not tried to record a source other than a guitar.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months, and for use at home to work, taking his time, without the pressure of the game live (not allowed error) it is quite convenient and easy to use.

I do not know if later I will try with other functions that seem to me more complex and restrictive (unless they provide perfect curls and holds the microphone hair), but in any case, c 'is a great tool to be square and forced to find several parts of guitars from a ide to departure. Fast Fashion's songs take on another dimension with the pedals!

So interesting that level, except the back of its small footprint: your hands are solicited trs. the addition of pedals of CONTRL can s'avrer practice (even necessary), especially for use on a hypothtique scne. Finally, the box pace and rhythm are too Submitted guide, which affects the Instinctiv.

edit 02/08: practical work at home, live or unusable rpeter high volume: Successive Recording of audio loops leads a slurry, in addition, not very practical use when you need to juggle between a half dozen pedals, the slightest mistake is unforgiving with this machine, even if you catch the blow again, farewell Instinctiv the game "live" ... short, a tool for working at home or CRER, but nothing else, having a multitrack dj who performs this function much better, it DCID I spare!

    - The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
Yes I think the manual is clear and it is still happy ^ ^

    SOUND QUALITY

The sound is reproduced restitution but not perfect but it's not really going to record a CD ^ ^

I use it with an Ibanez RG and a Line 6 amp and a multi-purpose zoom.

I find my account in this exercise myself PDAL o I manage in terms of harmonization.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for one week and I am satisfied. I like the ease of handling (or foot plutt) even if the compaction feature makes the beginners a bit hit and miss but the good looper y'en no 36 000.
No I trust the brand boss and as I said before the looper is not frquent.
    The report qualitprix seems correct.
I remake this choice because it offers me everything I was looking for a sampler: the possibility to try new things without having to wait for days RPTES with the group.

Sampler of sentence, digital drum machine (I think).
Format pedal. Two input (guitar and external switch), an output, a CD/MP3 input on the back and the adapter plug.

    UTILIZATION

Relatively simple configuration you still have to read the package insert for complete features. Very easy to use, it supports, you can play, and it réappuis in the box.

Manuel clear no complaints about that side.

    SOUND QUALITY

I think the sound sampled loses definition but it is generally acceptable. Function drum machine handy to stay in a precise rhythm.

I use it with an Ibanez RG and two line6 amps.

I like everything that can make this toy.

I use it for about 6 months and she is still not bad.
I like to improvise its usefulness alone or work pieces (only too).
I also used to make the lead part with two guitars harmonized.

I find the pedal a bit expensive in view of what it is in the box but I still advise to those who began to pace, for example.

It's all in the name: Loop Station.
    Almost.
Loop station, actually, this little boi-box records what you play and the return loop ...
But not only, oh surprise! There are even some pattern of batteries included!
It never replace your drummer, but you get to be stalling, and alone, it's still more enjoyable than a metronome!
Connections: in / out, hopefully, making Footswitch to control loops (avoids "double clicks" on the pedal itself) and even a mini jack to pump your favorite piece of your mp3 (no example) and you lead to play it.
For connectivity, and that's all that's not bad.

For connectivity, and that's all that's not bad.

    UTILIZATION

The grip was a bit tricky at first, although I do not consider myself stupid, but it's coming fast enough, today I master it well enough ...
Editing loops is quite easy (well a little practice is needed, but nothing nasty)
By choosing against the drum track, it's a hassle, you can change the patterns by pressing a button or via the pedal, there is a score of programs, but it's boring, frankly. .. That said, I use one or two, I spotted a place in memory, and I did that as, in short, is not that great as a system, but I do not think he could do better given the size of the machine, and then we always end up finding a solution.
The manual is clear and welcome, especially at first, keep the cool in the case of your guitar, but overall, the use of RC2 is pretty simple.

    SOUND QUALITY

This pedal has done its job, the sound you record is not too filthy, but not the high end. That said, I'm glad for it.
The "drum machine" is limited to twenty programs, it's a Roland, so it goes, the more I read in the record that there is a kind of filter for the sounds Battery credible through a guitar amp. I agree that it's not bad, but nothing more.
Consider this "drum machine" like a metronome improved.
The advantage of this is that you can connect a guitar, bass, synth, anything that requires a jack ...

    OVERALL OPINION

I use the RC2 for three months, I appreciate the simplicity of the "auto" mode (starts recording when you start to play), the tap tempo, intuitive to change the rhythm loops
I regret however that there ale only 11 memories, for once, it's a little lighter.
I have not tried other models, I made a purchase a bit compulsive, however, is the only looper at this price (to my knowledge)
The value for money is pretty decent, about € 140, it can feel much, but I think it contains quite expensive electronic components.
In short, it does, but I would do it, if you look ergonomic device, complete, and you want to do things rather complex loops, choose another model or another brand.
Be aware that in this price range, the investment is worth it.

It is a "looper," or "sampler" is to say quite simply a pedal that records what you play, then the spring loop or only once.

It can store up to fifteen minutes of its distributed among 11 independent memory locations, all as more or less CD.

    Digital technology (obviously)

The connection is simple (this is the only thing in this simple foot): an inlet, an outlet, an outlet to plug in an external controller.

It is very compact: the size of a classic Boss pedal effects, with only three knobs and a button. This compactness is also both its biggest advantage (particularly because it reduces the cost) and its biggest drawback, because the blow is fairly complex to use.

Attention, it depletes the battery in record time! AC power required ...

    UTILIZATION

The use of the RC2 is rather complex: on one mode to another (3 recording modes, backup mode, choice of rhythmic patterns, etc.) each knob or button has a different function. In practice this becomes clearer, but a careful reading of the manual is indispensable. It also often crosses the forums buyers lost souls who do it are not visibly plunged ...

I will not detail all the operating modes of the pedal but basically all serve the same purpose: to record, store and return loops guitar (or any other electric instrument, including voice). In any case, this recording is on a "base" measure by measure and rhythm, the pedal is responsible for adapting slightly the length of each loop so that it "sticks" to the measures. The tempo can be adjusted either automatically (auto mode, but there is interest in playing VERY square!) Or by tapping in rhythm on a button or pedal. With the large number of rhythmic patterns available, the possibilities are enormous. on the other hand, it's still a basic drum machine: no breaks, no tempo changes ...
Once registered the loop, we réappuye on the pedal, and the loop begins to play forever. Pressing and we add an overdub, that is to say a new "layer" recording. At any time, you just erase the last "layer" saved, then restore it if it crashed.

Once this operation assimilated, we come to easily record loops. Remains to play square, which is not necessarily obvious, cat pedal forgives nothing. But progress in this area is great.

In my opinion, the RC2 still has some annoying flaws three, which limit its use:

    * Without additional pedal, remove a loop requires to keep the pedal down for a few seconds and stop playing "double click" with the foot. Not very practical, and almost impossible to succeed by staying in rhythm live. We see that it is not for this ...

    * It is impossible to move from one loop to the other foot, without bending over to turn the knob for selecting memory locations. We can not separately record several parts of a song, then move on.

    * When recording over a rhythm loop set, delete the first "layer" to start recording requires also the feast of the tempo. Annoying when it crashes 3 times in a row ...

    SOUND QUALITY

In itself, the sound quality of recording is very good, although it can of course not compete with that of a true recorder. There has been no significant degradation of sound As the stack of "layers" successive recording, provided that they remain reasonable. Even the drum does not sound too synthetic.

The problem in this area comes from the amp rather: in fact, the pedal just to record the raw sound of the guitar, possibly modified by other effects pedals placed upstream: it is the amp that "sort" the sound. So, obviously, with lots of curls piled on her loaded and can quickly become rough, especially if the amp has a tendency to crunch. But if you stay reasonable on the amount of overdubs (less than ten say) the sound is very good.

The other problem is that if the pedal is plugged in "front" between the guitar and amp, setting the latter applies to the sound of the guitar and loops recorded. In other words, impossible to play a rhythm over saturated in the clear. The solution is to either use a pedal placed before the saturation RC2 (which therefore does not affect the sound loops) or to plug the pedal in the effects loop of the amp, if it has one .

However, the problem is fairly easy to overcome, and especially relates to the same type of pedal, and is found on higher-end models. It could be easily removed by adding a second output on the pedal, to direct the loops to an amp and guitar sound to another, and to play in stereo. In a future release of RC2 perhaps?

    OVERALL OPINION

The opinion on this pedal is highly dependent on the use we intend to make. Do not misunderstand that for which it is planned.

    The Boss RC2 is:

    * A great tool to work the guitar: she forgives nothing in rhythm and can move very quickly to both the rhythmic rigor as the harmony. For example, recording a chord grid and then playing a solo over it, you can work very effectively the relationship between the notes, scales, modes, etc.. It is also convenient to work pieces only at home.

    * A very good tool for composition: compose songs takes on another dimension when you can immediately listen to the result of what is found "in status". Too bad she does not truly independent tracks, but in such a format and at this price ...

    * A "toy" to scrape a lot of fun at home: oD

But the Boss RC2 is not:

    * A tool for live: too complicated to use, especially without additional pedal stop to control loops, with no possibility to switch from one loop to the other foot ... and above all, in my opinion, the use of such devices has no interest in concerts, force the group to follow a tempo drum machine, boring and unchanging, limits the possibilities of improvisation, multiplies the opportunities for technical problems ... What makes a live looper, a musician will always be better. At the limit it can help to launch sampled sounds, but that's all. And styles based on samples and loops as techno or rap, it is far too limited. However it is also true of his colleagues much more expensive.

    * A recording tool: poor sound quality (although very respectable for other uses), recording time insufficient, a single track from memory location (you can even save multiple "layers" of sound each) impossible to return to another loop that the last registered, no memory card slot to transfer recordings to other media ...

In short, if you use this pedal for what it is, and not to misunderstand its use is a great tool, that can totally change the life of guitarist home! In addition, she begins to find secondhand around 100 euros, which is simply given for such a machine, totally unimaginable only a few years ago ...

The fact that one needs to double stomp to stop the loop, or bend down to scroll through loops can get really annoying, but that is the price you pay for such a small enclosure.

The manual is very lengthy, but I highly recommend that you take the time to read it. It does a good job of breaking down the less intuitive features.

    SOUND QUALITY

I highly recommend running this in the loop if you have one. That way, the pedal will store the actual sound of your preamp, and not just continue to loop the dry signal through the input. You'll get less of a cluttered sound, and also be able to switch channels without affecting the looped track. Just make sure to back off the volume a tad.

While the pedal does adjust the loop for minimal tempo changes, it isn't perfect no matter how tight of a job you do stomping it in. I found that with a solid drummer, the pedal will drift after a few loops.

    OVERALL OPINION

It really comes down to what you want to use it for. In a live setting, it is going to get off time, is difficult to control in a hands free manner, and probably isn't what you want to be using. For the bedroom guitarist who just wants to work on improv and listen back to leads, its a very useful tool. I use it pretty frequently while teaching so that I can play WITH a student over a backing track.

Prices on these seem to be dropping, they aren't a bad deal at all. I'd also take a look at the digitech jamman line.

She could do more, for sure, but with practice I'm sure I'll discover lots of little trick to use max.

Finally for the price, there are competitor products that seems to do more if the avalanche of technology that frightens you least months.

Boss RC-2 Loop StationPublished on 03/10/10 at 22:20
The Boss RC-2 Loop Station is a compact looping pedal that can be used with any electric instrument. I've only used it with electric guitar, so this review will be focused upon this application. The pedal is pretty standard in it's characteristics for a Boss pedal, as it has 1/4" connections for input and output, as well as one for hooking up an expression pedal to control stopping and tempo. This isn't rack mountable - it is a stomp box.

    UTILIZATION

It did take me a little while to get used to using the Boss RC-2 Loop Station. I found it a bit strange to be using an in depth looper pedal that only has one button, as I'm used to other models that have a few different buttons to play with. After playing with it for a short while though I was able to get used to it without a real problem. There are definitely a good amount of parameters to play with, including those for mode, selecting your phrase (up to 11), and for controlling the levels of your original recording and your current phrase. The manual is pretty in depth and very helpful for learning how to use the pedal as a whole.

    SOUND QUALITY

The Boss RC-2 Loop Station doesn't have any sounds of its own, but most importantly it records you clear and plays back without losing any sound quality. I've used the pedal with a Fender Jazzmaster and '76 Fender Twin Reverb, and it was a lot of fun to play with for looping and recording over myself. I'm a big fan of pedals like this, as I love to harmonize over myself and come up with new ideas...

    OVERALL OPINION

As far as looping pedals go, the Boss RC-2 Loop Station is the cheapest and most compact one on the market. I don't like it as much as the RC-20, but as far as price goes, the RC-2 has it beat by a long shot. If you're just looking for a looping that you can use to mess around with at home, I'd recommend this one to save the money, but if you're going to be using it outside of your home, I'd definitely recommend spending a bit more money and getting the RC-20 or RC-20XL, as they are easier to use and have a lot more to work with...
