Vigier has announced the brand's very first single-cutaway electric guitar.
According to Vigier, this guitar is supposed to deliver the hottest sounds of all the guitars in the brand’s product line. The choice of the single-cut body design is aimed at reflecting a combination of modernism and tradition.
Like all Vigier instruments, the new single-cut guitar features a wood neck reinforced by a carbon-fiber bar that uses the company’s exclusive 10/90 system (10% carbon fiber/90% wood). The guitar is equipped with the new Vigier nut made of Teflon, which reduces friction at the nut, where most tuning problems typically occur; on a side note, this Teflon nut will very soon be installed as a standard feature on all Vigier instruments, beginning in January 2009.
This model will feature a solid alder body with a flamed maple top. The bridge and tailpiece are Vigier’s original design and include a unique feature that makes it possible to lock any pieces of the bridge in place once the setup is done, which is said to guarantee an improvement in tone, a greater sustain, as well as better tuning. The new single-cut model is equipped with a pair of humbuckers, a 5-way pickup selector switch for a variety of sounds, volume and tone controls.
No release date or price was communicated… neither is the definite name for this model.
