Problem-free installation.
Ets it also possible to easily add tools supplmenatires Toolbox calls. Some toolbox are free and others pay.
-The documentation is exemplary, on the one hand you can have a CASC easily using the console by typing HELP + the name of the function that interests us, it is also possible to help by running accsa doc command. Finally Matlab ets accompanied by several documents in pdf.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
On-machine resources, depending on the calculations you are going to start. Some other calculations are performed much less rapidly (a neural network learning can take weeks).
I use this software to work on powerful machines at home and on a athlon 1.8 with 1024 RAM.
-The performance of matlab is excellent. You can do everything! It is possible to create these proportions according to the algorithms programming language matlab file (. M). This language is very intuitive programmtion. The advantage over some of matlab certaisn a language lies in the fact that many are prprogramm function (the number of pre-programmed function will depend on the toolbox install. Matlab but does not make processing time r el (see simulink can be).
OVERALL OPINION
- I use it for over 3 years. Initially I used to do signal processing: Fourier transform, filtering, processing of sound and image, sound synthesis, time-frequency (STFT, Wigner Ville etc). Currently I use it primarily for telecom signal processing, statistics, statistical learning (SVM, ANN, Kohonen Map) and blind source sparation (ICA / BSS). I also attempted queqlues music on this program. This is possible thanks to the function of import / export import export audio and MIDI (MIDI Toolbox Free was first download)
- The advantages of Matlab are many: easy programming, pre-programmed functions VERY Evolus, easy to integrate new features. At the level of disadvantage include difficulty carrying a stand alone program in matlab. Matlab is often used in a research phase. If the results are entered into, a port in C, C + + or Java is required (which requires any reprogramming). Note that Matlab provides a pseudo exports in C. However, the exports in C does not allow the creation of stand-alone application, to run the programs Matlab Component C libraries are needed.
The quality-price ratio is hard to judge. On the one hand the application is the ultimate in digital processing, on the other hand the price is excessive lev. I put 10 because I consider the possibilities and not primarily the price. Note that there are application competitor as Octave or Scilab.
