Handcrafted in Germany.
Spruce top, rosewood sides, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard.
Form "Concert" more indented than the Dreadnought, a more dynamic sound.
Flawless finish.
Simple aesthetic, natural varnish. All wood except the rose surrounded by a small abalone inlay.
I like the sober and "nature" of this guitar
Excellent microphone from bridge B-Band (it's the old model)

UTILIZATION

Channel pleasant, very good ergonomics.
Light guitar, easy to play
No cutaway (cutaway model exists), therefore limited access to treble.
Special screening.

SOUNDS

I am not a technician of the guitar, but I sing and play for 25 years and I listen to lots of music. I chose this guitar because it allowed me access to his records I love.
It took me a long acclimation: the dynamics of this guitar is such that we must learn to tame. Especially if you're used guitar a bit "soft." Here, you can go from picking one of the most conventional folk sounds worthy of Django if the bullies, with all the intermediate colors. It's very dramatic.
This guitar proves everything. The sound of the strings chosen (I prefer Elixir Nanoweb Bronze), the choice of the pick (soft to folk, jazz to hard), all means!
+ Excellent for playing fingers, picking
+ Dynamic exceptional.
Chord + great if we respect the guitar
+ Amazing sonic palette
+ His warm bass, crystal treble in, very balanced
+ From the grain and depth
+ From Sustain
- To be critical, the low E string is sailing faster than the others, it becomes a little less accurate with time, which I think is normal for this size of instrument. That said, no problem to play in open tuning in D, the bass is very present.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought this guitar some ten years (model manufactured in 2000).
Many models have passed between my hands at the time: Martin, Gibson, Taylor, Larrivee, Yamaha, I have long walked the streets of Douai and rue Victor Massé Pigalle ...
On balance, I played some beautiful guitar and am pretty fond of Martin and Gibson offering really beautiful instruments that dream. I think I would have been satisfied with a Martin D28 Eric Clapton if I could also take a Gibson J200 ...
That said, after trying enough models to forget the brand, I chose this guitar for its dynamic qualities and exceptional sound grain, perhaps also more versatile sound than the guitars mentioned above.
Purchased 1700 Euros at the time if I remember correctly, is about 1000 Euros less than all competitors! But this criterion would not have stopped to buy a more expensive guitar if I preferred the sound.
I rediscovered the sound of my instrument with delight at each change of set of strings and I would do without hesitation that choice today. Try it if you absolutely have the opportunity.
In conclusion, we clubbed together for a gift a custom guitar Lakewood for 40 years from a friend. Mr Martin Seeliger we listened, advised and got a guitar once again outstanding at a price defying any competition.
