The Dualo du-touch may look like a accordion, but it is a fare more complete instrument, for it can be a synth and a MIDI controller, with a dual 5-octave pressure-sensitive touch keyboard, on which the note disposition is based on the “dualo” system: notes that sound well together (according to the tradition harmonic theory) are placed one next to another. All the keys are backlit with LEDs.
Also installed on the du-touch are tri-dimensional gesture sensors and a wheel located on the center of the instrument is also equipped with touch sensors, along with an OLED display on which you can read different information (note names, instrument in use…).
The Dualo du-touch features a line level 1/4 jack output, an amplified headphone output (1/8” jack), a 5-pin MIDI output and a USB MIDI connection. The instrument is battery-powered and ships with a library of 100+ instruments and a multi-effect.
The price of the Dualo du-touch is 990€ but for the holidays, a special pre-order price of 890€ + free shipping is available. The instrument will start shipping on April 2014.
The Dualo team is attending CES 2014 this week, you can meet them and try the du-touch at the Venetian hotel (Sands Expo, booth 73407) in the Eureka Park.
Here is a presentation video of the du-touch, and you’ll find more info at en.dualo.org.
