Bamblong is a Southeast Asian small idiophone similar to a marimba, made of carved bamboos of different sized. Soundiron multi-sampled it with 20 velocity layers and 10 round robins per dynamic layers on average. Soundiron recorded the instrument in studio dry with mallets, dry with brushes and in a large glass and stone hall. They also recorded rolls with brushes and included release samples.
Bamblong features 2519 samples in 24-bit / 48kHz stereo WAV format, 17 .nki instruments for Kontakt 4.2.4 and later, and more than 50 custom impulses for the convolution reverb.
Version 2 brings an improved GUI with the ability to automate performance controls, and equalizer, a reverb and the Soundiron Uberpeggiator.
Bamblong 2 is available for the special price of $39 instead of $49 along with 6 other sound libraries which names start with “B” until May 1st, 2013: Bizarre Sitar ($27 instead of $39), Bowed Bucket Bass ($19 instead of $29), Bamboo Stick Ensemble ($27 instead of $39), Bronze Bin ($10 instead of $15), Breaker ($27 instead of $39) and the Bamboo Collection which includes Bamblong, Angklung and the Bamboo Stick Ensemble ($84 instead of $167).
