Let us not repeat and go to the essentials:
It's on this amp with both models (from the Tonelab, itself derived from Korg ...) and a small lampounettes (12AX7) preamp, which is out of the electronic modeling and just before to attack the amp itself, which is transistor.
30 watts, with a limiter 1 to 30 watts (thank you for the family :-) and two memories to move from one setting to another with a footswitch (not included ...).

All this is very good.

UTILIZATION

Everything is simple and yet complicated: the possible combinations are endless, as on all these machines modeling, and it should not be tempted by a foraging fool.
The sound is easy to find and pay when we know what we want.
Only the settings of the effects are somewhat obscure, we must keep this little sheet of cardboard on the amp to buy, or download it from Voxamp.

SOUNDS

To get to the weak ...
The potential of this amp is remarkable compared to other modeling amps (I had tried them all before you buy, except Marshall), he holds the upper hand ... with one exception: the HP.
It does not take the bass (which are unclear), and lack of dynamics. Let's be clear: the amp is usable as sold, and value for money is very good (nothing to do with a Roland Cube equivalent for example, even if it costs € 50 more).

But once you are a TRUE HP grafted (a celestion G12H in my case, others have grafted a G10 Vintage), one realizes the huge mistake of marketing people at Vox: not to exceed € 300 (it is less), they have a basic HP stifling the potential of the amp.

on the other hand, once the customization done ... Then, on one hand the 30 watts are there, and really there, on the other hand, we can do anything with. Everything!
So are € 80 and you pay at least one G10: it is the same format and does not need to change the combo.

As amended, this combo is worth its 10 points. Originally, it is 5 (Serves the marketing people!)

OVERALL OPINION

Okay, this is not an all-tube amp, but it did not inconvenience any of lamps: it is robust, and above all it allows you to play "bottom" (So by exploiting the dynamic lamp), but going out 5 watts of power, then safe to do linch by neighbors.

For my part, I made a big change, since I changed the combo amp head, and I made a forum for the G12H. It cost me a total of 150 €, and the sound is huge!
This in itself is a confirmation of purchase: at a time, I was on the verge of selling it and take the 60 watt model, which HP is better ... but firstly I never need 60 watts, on the other hand, now I have a single amp :-) (see my profile if that's your thing)
