Value For Money :
Excellent
2 input jacks on asymmetric .. stop .. 2 outputs jacks unbalanced .. stop .. 2 sheets "din" for Midi connections (the second is switchable Out / Thru) .. stop .. a connector Jack for a pedal .. stop .. and we went around the back of the machine .. Note that the four Midiverb has no digital input / output. Depending on the use that will not be too annoying. Since we are talking among other entries, beware because the nominal input level is-10dBV so be careful if you interfaced to a console working voltages of +4 dBu .. The four Midiverb may not love at all despite the "Auto Level" function that automatically adjusts its inputs and outputs according to the incoming signal. It is very ingenious, but unfortunately it will not change anything.
This machine offers a wide range of effects ranging from reverb through the effects of transpositions, chorus, flanger .. or simple delay.
UTILIZATION
Operation is simple and intuitive, wide screen LCD is for many. This screen, editing mode, always display four parameters editable and selectable four buttons named A, B, C and D. Values are changed using the knob "Value", the constitutive parameters of a program are stored in pages 1, 2, etc. .. Anyway parameters editions of reverb are few (at most ten), therefore storage per page I think is a good idea ..
You should know that this Midiverb 4 offers four types of operation:
Single
Double
Dual Mono
Multi-Chain
which is typically four modes of chaining effects. That being said, any time these modes can not be changed by any edition .. It is a shame ..
on the other hand Midi implementation is not the most intuitive, competition is better (Lexicon, Tc etc. ..), but with a little practice you can get by pretty quickly.
SOUND QUALITY
Start with the reverberations. We really can not say they are conspicuous by their nature, but they are still used in most cases, provided they are at least edited. Indeed, (no pun intended) to the factory settings were probably made for "grandstanding" suddenly making their farms say .. difficult to see difficult .. on the other hand, once published, they are able to embellish a source of pleasant way. Moreover, it is also important to note that this Midiverb 4 is probably one of the only reverb "floor price" or can be used without blushing programs reverb with a long decay ..
Deadlines are in turn somewhat perfectible as not offering enough delay time, and certainly not enough available settings. It is far from a dedicated period Tc type D-Two, Yamaha D 5000 and consort .. this being, this finding with few exceptions, is valid for all multi-effects, and it is when the range ..
The chorus and flanger are other really good. And say all games are practically equal to those present on a MPX 1! Obviously if we ignore settings available on this Lexicon .. in the register of phase effects to bury the Midiverb 4, and staying at Lexicon, it took me to get one .. PCM 80!
The effects of transpositions are pretty average, difficult to use on an instrument and almost impossible voice .. In contrast the different combinations of effects are rather very successful and perfectly usable.
OVERALL OPINION
Well obviously if you're used to using professional units it is likely that this little bike will leave marble look will make you smile .. Yes, but .. in you a closer look there is also a safe bet that this little Alesis surprise you in many ways! Including certain combinations of effects very very successful!
Okay, it blows a little. The editing parameters are a bit limited time. She certainly has a full Midi implementation but not easy to use. It has inputs and outputs a bit anemic .. Okay .. but do not forget the price. And sincerely I'm really trying to ask me to buy one.
