« Still surprising! »
Published on 07/16/11 at 11:47Multi-effect processor that combines five algorithms: Delay / reverb, Pith / delay, Plate, Gate and chorus. It also includes a mode "Dynamic Midi" through this interface that allows management of 27 real-time editing parameters constituting the five proposed algorithms.
Steering the LXP 15 can also be done from the expression pedal connected to the five entries that make up the dedicated processor. The audio input and output jacks are connectors 6.35 mm in asymmetric links.
The Lexicon 128 is equipped with user memory spaces and 128 spaces "presets".
Treatment is of 16 bits at a sampling frequency of 31.25 kHz which results in a bandwidth from 20 to 15 kHz maximum.
UTILIZATION
Use of LXP 15 is very easy and much more friendly than a PCM 70 or MPX 1 for example. With the rotary called "page" is turned to select a page as "reverb" for example, where you select one of five settings available, via one of these five switches below the display or be visible in the second line the selectable parameters, we select what we want and the value is adjusted via the single wheel encoded on .. It could not be simpler ..
For the control of sound, they are easily adjustable either by foot or by potentiometer (optional), allowing a very simple way through the five entries "controllers" cited above, to control the value of any parameter, LFO speed, mix, re-injections .. This is configurable through its four patches, which can also assign any parameter to any other parameter. One can for example control the mix of reverb for the entry level ..
SOUND QUALITY
The reverbs are excellent, even for long simulations and their use is becoming possible. Delays and echoes are also excellent, more when they are made via the internal LFO modulate, we get surprising results. For example, echoes of the LFO modulation to add the chorus while changing the tone when delays become shorter or longer, just like an analog delay line or an echo chamber band ..
The Pitches on the other hand are a bit capricious and lack of stability, not an instrument to double an octave lower without hearing the noise, having said that the combined effects fortunately these masks imperfections.
OVERALL OPINION
Very good multi-effect possibilities endless, but unknown. This machine was purchased by my wife and preserved in spite of our purchase of another 15 LXP version 2, that's how we appreciate it! There can of course not compete with the range PCM, but it allows for effects that only he can do.
