« impressive, and very friendly »
Published on 07/07/11 at 11:09classic pedal, 3 tone controls drive volume, boss usual format, so practical and effective.
Overdrive fairly consistent. manufactured in Taiwan, new, not vintage.
UTILIZATION
extremely simple, very few bad settings. pedal "sounds" forever.
SOUND QUALITY
, Very good overdrive chubby and not too much drooling. The accuracy is at the rendezvous. very efficient thanks to fairly well spaced knobs and very efficient.
Compared to the TS9 is more powerful, more fat and less subtle and profound (especially with a strato) "presence" is more blatant but never aggressive.
The overall tone is more rock than blues and with that, it is good for ACDC, phone, or even Cream's pretty fit in it anyway! No more noise than the TS9, but will not serve too much boost. the overdrive should be started to make it sound. The grain is quite pronounced and so if we can do with the blues of course, is necessarily a blus energetic.
Attention sends the volume of wood, much more than the TS9 and adjusting the tone is not bad in the middle as the overall tone is bright enough. Flight + Drive are fairly intertwined, we must dig a little but the two knobs to 11 and the tone in the middle can get started.
excellent on humbuckers (more on that 2 alnico 5)
Including a jazz 1/2caisse to do some Scofield, it's great.
excellent on a stratovolcano, everything goes well, the shades are ok.
It is a quality overdrive very complementary to the TS9. Nothing to do with the DS1 orange, screaming and a little stiff. Here, we speak of overdrive, so roundness.
OVERALL OPINION
I tried and owned a couple of distortion and overdrive, it will have pride of place among Tubescreamer, my shop and the plexiglass box MXR distortion +.
Ella has already favorite guitars, like the other pedals.
At this price, it's a very good deal since it was still a bit under the foot to play a little bit of everything and even heavier. If I take that to a little of everything and as it is more versatile than the others, I would definitely.
