«  One of the best! »

And notice more for this pedal, that merit and if by chance some still hesitate it can always help them in their choice!
I'm not going to, analog pedal, four knobs, gain, volume, bass and treble, input, output, true-bypass switch, external power supply jack. Red box, solid, it exudes quality.

UTILIZATION

No need to rack their brains to use the BB preamp, it is not programmable so you turn the knobs to find her at his convenience.

SOUND QUALITY

As the name suggests, it should be close to the sound of an old Marshall of 60's-70's the Blues Breaker (both B!!).
Side sound reproduction is very effective playing with the knobs and volume gain and may have a slight crunch and go up a good meaty overdrive on a guitar mounted double. It can also improve its sound with two settings treble and bass.
This pedal always sounds clean, you feel the care taken in design and quality components used. When I say clean it does not mean smooth and featureless, it has the body and personality, but all the notes are audible, though spare, what it's clean!
Personal I use it more and boost the drive channel of my already slightly dirty Laney Lionheart L20H and there, it's hard pure joy, it scratches, it grates! Gain quarter, volume at noon, I have a scratch Launhardt replica of a Les Paul Junior with a P90 in the bridge, AC-DC, Led Zep, ZZ top, anything goes and I will not say how.
Start with one that sounds too, so what more we move from a slightly crunchy by lowering the guitar volume to drive a hendrixien just by increasing the volume. This is music of all positions microphones.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this pedal for a few months I have had and tested a lot of pedals in the same style, Zvex Box of Rock, Fulltone OCD, Maxon OD808, TS-9, Way Huge Pork away, T-Rex Mudhoney etc. .. ... They are all good, but I think the BB preamp a little something extra compared to other already ....... its price! Nine is still abused, it's going to OCCAZ better already, is a pedal that is becoming more democratic and we are beginning to find everywhere, it's a good pedal called "boutique", it could be a long discourse its price and quality!
I also have another foot in the register a Barber direct drive I have been around longer and has more reserves than the gain Xotic, I use alternatively the two pedals, one for crunch Barber very thick, Xotic the boost in the drive channel of the amp for graillou and Xotic only for lighter crunch. It has become essential to my sound, I use it in a blues-rock record, it feels great.
Aside from its original price, it is worth giving a look or an ear. But it is true that today we are spoiled for choice in overdrive, distortion pedals, many are excellent as the Xotic.
