I also have a APC40
The two machines are different although they can do similar things
The advantage of the launchpad is his user1 tab, which allows to control ableton with the drums rack with twelve o'clock proper routing to send messages noon drum rack track to the launchpad, you play the pads with a rate , was recorded, the light is replayed on launchpad.
The best way to understand all the possibilities of programming is still to look on you tube, everything is there, complete with tutorials
What I like most: control of drum rack, usb power, lightweight, compact, rugged, plug in play for basic functions, value for money saw interesting possibilities
What I like least: I'm still looking
I do not regret my purchase, and even though I would take another considering the price!!
