cubase sx3 + reason 3 rewire on vista

at first, reason would crash when i tried to load it after Cubase, so i found the Vista rewire on propellerheads sight. no more crash, rewire seems to sych properly. one major problem though, i am getting no audio from reason into my rewire channels in Cubase. i have the mix l/r enabled, and the volume cranked. when i hit play, reason starts playing but the sound isn't being transported to cubase.
