I'm on Ubuntu 6.06, and don't want to switch back to windows, or buy a Mac. Does anyone know a good GarageBand alternative for Linux? I'm considering running Acid with Wine.

Ardour would probably be the best bet, but the current 1.0 version (I thought) has a learning curve, coming from cool edit pro 2. There is also a program named Wired which currently in development but looks like it will be a closer feel to cool edit pro and maybe garage band.
